Muhammad and his family are about to leave a displacement camp in Deir Al-Balah. The camp is overcrowded, with makeshift plastic walls for privacy and temporary beds offering little comfort. Yet, they are preparing for their next challenge—returning to Gaza City.

Their neighbor shared a heartbreaking video of their home, showing it completely destroyed and reduced to rubble. Still, Muhammad and his family are determined to go back, despite knowing what awaits them.

“We think a lot about how to go back to Gaza. We are now in displacement tents in Deir Al-Balah, but we will return to our destroyed homes in Gaza. In order to reach Gaza, we need to walk 20 km on foot. We can’t carry any luggage or the tent we have here. Unfortunately, we have nothing in Gaza, it’s all devastating. But we love Gaza so much, and we want to return to it. The distance we will walk is not simple, it will be difficult to carry anything. I don’t know what we will do.”

The 20 km journey to Gaza will be challenging, but their love for their home is stronger than the obstacles they face. They dream of rebuilding their lives, but they need your help.
